Removal of the TMS induced artifacts in EEG

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in combination with EEG is a relatively new and promising research tool. Combining TMS with EEG offers a way to evaluate the brain’s response to the magnetic pulse. Besides inducing an EEG response (evoked potential), TMS also generates different artifacts in the EEG signal. This makes interpretation of the EEG responses difficult. The aim of this project is to identify and remove the artifacts induced in the EEG with principal component analysis in order to investigate the TMS-EEG response.

This graduation project is part of the PHD project of Esther ter Braack.
