Gaurav was born in a small town named Nowrozabd in Central India. He completed his undergraduate study (B.Pharm) in 2003 and M.Tech-Biotechnology in 2007 from Rajiv Gandhi Technology University, India. He has extensive research experience in life sciences ranging from biotechnology, biochemistry and cheminformatics where mostly his work involved making potent antimicrobial agents and modelling their interactions with target proteins. Currently, Gaurav is doing his postgraduate research in the field of structural DNA nanotechnology at School of Chemical and Physical Sciences, Flinders University, Australia.
Since August 2016 he is undertaking cotutelle programme in Bionanotechnology group under the supervision of Prof. Jeroen J.L.M Cornelissen at University of Twente. His project involves the fabrication and functionalisation of DNA nanostructures.
