Dr. Alexis Depauw
Alexis Depauw studied chemistry at the National Graduate School of Chemistry of Montpellier (France), where he obtained his B. Sc. in Chemistry in 2008 and his M. Sc. in Chemistry in 2011 with a major in organic chemistry and a minor in biochemistry.
He then started a Ph. D. at the laboratory of Supramolecular and Macromolecular Photophysics and Photochemistry (PPSM) at the ENS Cahcan (France). He received his Ph. D. in Novembre 2014, under the supervision of Dr. I. Leray. His researches focused on the development of fluorescent ion sensors based on calixarenes for the detection of alkali metals in aqueous media for environemental and biological applications.
Since December 2014, Alexis is a postdoctoral researcher in the Biomolecular Nanotechnology group under the supervision of Dr. Nathalie Katsonis. The aim of his project is the development of dynamic templates based on chiral liquid crystals.
