Welcome to Colin Veenstra as PhD student, and Lot Jeurink as Master student

Colin Veenstra as PhD student

Colin Veenstra

Starting from September 1, Colin Veenstra has been appointed as PhD student for 4 years. Colin will be working on the project ‘Needless Needles’, focusing on the development of low-coherence spectroscopy (LCS) for noninvasive blood analysis in newborns. Colin’s appointment has been supported by the UT/MIRA.

Colin completed his MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering within the BMPI group on 21 April 2015. His thesis was titled ‘Absorption coefficient measurements of scattering samples using an integrating sphere’.

For information about student projects, feel free to send an email to c.veenstra@utwente.nl or n.bosschaart@utwente.nl.

We wish Colin good luck at BMPI!

Lot Jeurink as Master student

Lot is a Biomedical Engineering master student. In the coming months, Lot will participate in the project ‘Needless Needles’, focusing on the development of low-coherence spectroscopy (LCS) for noninvasive blood analysis in newborns. Within this project, Lot will develop a method for accurate quantification of absorption from the LCS signal. Lot will be supervised by Nienke Bosschaart (n.bosschaart@utwente.nl).

We wish Lot a ‘lot’ of luck at BMPI!
