Student Projects

Internships

At AST, we are always looking for highly motivated students who want to work with us and join one of our projects! Given the interdisciplinary nature of our research, we are open to students with a lot of different backgrounds. Medical biology, pharmacology, cell biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, and nanotechnology. As long as you have demonstrated experimental experience in cell biology and biochemistry or in microengineering and sensing, we are definitely interested in working with you!

How to Apply

Please check our research and publications to identify which part of our work is of interest to you. Then, send a letter of motivation, CV, and a clear indication of your direct experience with relevant techniques (e.g. course list and grades, or similar documents) to one of our scientific staff members.

Procedure

Based on the information you provide, we will make sure you are a good fit for our group. If so, we will invite you for a discussion with one of our scientific staff members and/or researchers. In this discussion, we will explore what you expect from an internship in our group and whether we can provide you with a project that is a good fit to achieve your goals. Finally, we will make some administrative checks regarding time periods, availability of laboratory space, office space, and available supervision. All of this is to ensure that you can carry out your project successfully.
