Wyss-director Ingber visits MESA+

Over the course of half a week, Ingber—head of the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University—was a guest at the campus, where he gave the annual Bergveld lecture at the BIOS/Lab-on-a-chip group. Among others, he visited MESA+ and MIRA. About the former, he remarked: ‘MESA+ is mostly a big investment in large-scale infrastructure with great fundamental research and engineering. However, it lacks an investment to take the operational side all the way. Herein lies a chance for MESA+.’

Wyss explains: ‘What if the UT could figure out how to combine the infrastructural knowhow of MESA+ with the medical expertise and focus of MIRA. Then you would have something very special on your hands.’
