PHD positions in Ethics of Technology
PhD Scholarships are provided by Charles Sturt University and the topics are topic-neutral - non-specific. However, because I know the PSTS program reasonably well having taught in it when I was at Twente as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Twente for the period 2006-2009, the kind of projects we are looking for at the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics (CAPPE) in Canberra, are in Ethics of Technology generally, and specifically with regard to my own research interests in Information Ethics; the Ethics of Emerging Technologies, including ICTs; Computer Ethics; the Impact of Technology on Wellbeing; the Ethics of Robotics; New Media Ethics; and Ethics in Technological Design. Although not exhaustive, I hope this gives you a wide spectrum of topics.
I would be more than happy to provide any of your students interested in taking up one of our PhD Research Scholarships on any of the above topics or related alternative topics, with more information and support. They can contact me personally at this email address. ESpence@csu.edu.au
Please do not hesitate to request for more information concerning the PhD Scholarships, but also more general information concerning CAPPE and the Research Environment.
