Enjoy drinks and snacks after a day of work with your colleages from the UT.

Optional Model Lunch Time Meeting - Thursday  May 10th  12:30 @ RA 2237

There are many benefits of being an employee of the UT. One of the most useful ones is the optional model for employment conditions.  With this internal web application you can obtain a bicycle, a refund on your commuting costs, extra holidays or trade unused holidays for money.  The application also calculates the tax benefit that you enjoy as part of the options you select. The lunch time meeting will consist of a presentation by Ireen Miessen from the Human Resources department of the UT. Then we would go through the web application, explaining each step and its significance.

Keukenhof and Noordwijk Trip - Sunday 13th May @ 7:30 City center  & 7:50 Campus

ISA, TUSAT and LA-Voz together present a trip to keukenhof and Noordwijk on 13th of May. 
Start from the city at 7:30am, and from the UT campus at 7:50am. We shall then go to the noordwijk beach at 3pm, and we leave there by 5pm.

PhD Candidates As Secondary School Teachers - Tuesday  May 15th  12:45 @ C238

How do you work with a class? How do secondary school pupils learn? And how do you bring your message accross best? Have you always been curious about the answer to these questions, than the βXLinx-project might be something for you!

As a PhD candidate you can get to know secondary school (Voortgezet Onderwijs) through the βXLinx-project. If you like this introduction you have the possibility during your PhD (or afterwards) to get a first teaching qualification in the subjects Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science. The perspectives on the labor market are good to very good for teachers in various school subjects.

Do you want to know more about the project ‘Promovendi voor de klas’? Then come to the information lunch on May 15th, organized by ELAN. Jan van der Veen, director of Teacher Training, talks about the process and a PhD candidate will tell about his own experiences.

The information session will be in Dutch.

P-NUT Bike Tour - Sunday 20th May 11:30 @ Oudemarkt Enschede

Taking advantage of the long week-end of ascension (Hemelvaart) P-NUT will be organizing a cycle tour to Germany. The plan is to meet at 11:30 in Enchede city center. Then cycle to the "Haarmuehle"  a picturesque restaurant just outside The Netherlands. Eat, sample some of the local delicacies and cycle back to Enschede. The cycle is about 12 Km  that we expect to cover at a leisurely rate. Estimated cycling time 1h 30 minutes.

P-NUT @ San Remo Friday 25th May 21:00 (Stadsgravenstraat 53, Enschede)

Join us in the now epic saga of P-NUT @ to celebrate or commiserate on the highs and lows of the PhD life.
This time we will gather at San Remo (Stadsgravenstraat 53, Enschede); just behind Aspen Valley. 
San Remo is one of the most traditional student cafes in Enschede with unique atmosphere.

When: Friday 25th May  
Time: 21:00 - 'till late  
Where: San Remo, Stadsgravenstraat 53, Enschede

As part of doing a PhD good working conditions have to made available to you. 
The most basic of them is room in the university or your place of daily work. 
In order to better represent you P-NUT would like to have your input.
