Dutch Dinner and Ice Skating - Tuesday, November 15th, 18:00 onwards

As the days are getting darker and colder we think it is a good time for a real Dutch winter event!

So here is what we plan to do: we will have some Dutch winter dishes served in the Vestingbar from 18.00 on and then we all go ice skating at the IJsbaan Twente.

What do you pay and what do you get?

You pay € 10. This includes Dutch dinner and your entrance fee for skating! If you have your own skates, bring them along. If you don’t have your own skates, you can rent them at Ijsbaan Twente for €5.50 (or more if you want really fancy ones!).

Date: Tuesday, November 15th
Time: 18:00 till you are tired of skating!
Meeting place: Vestingbar at the UT
Price: € 10,00 (includes dinner + entrance at IJsbaan) to be paid on spot

P-NUT @ San Remo - Friday, November 25th, 20:00 onwards

Join us in unwinding after a month of hard work! Research is not easy and it always helps to talk to fellow PhDs to celebrate or commiserate. San Remo, one of Enschedes more traditional student bars, is located in Stadsgravenstraat 53, Enschede. Stadsgravenstraat is the narrow street behind the Sam Sam and Aspen Valley.

Date: Friday, November 25th
Time: 20:00 onwards
Venue: San Remo, Stadsgravenstraat 53, Enschede
No registration required

P-NUTs new membership policy

P-NUT represents, informs, and connects all PhD Candidates at the University of Twente. To be able to do so even better, P-NUT recently became a professional organization. This means that now you can become an official member. This helps us to represent you even better, gives you the opportunity to have your say in P-NUT activities and policy, and we can sponsor our events a bit.

Becoming a member is easy: fill in the membership form and send it to Silja Eckartz, EWI IS, Zilverling Room 3082 or bring it with you when you join one of our events. If you send in the form, or if you already did so, than you will receive a welcome e-mail. Keep this e-mail for future reference, it contains your P-NUT membership number!

You can use your P-NUT membership number to sign up for  events. If you want to sign up, but are not yet a member: no worries, you can always sign up at the event! Do you want to meet us before deciding on being a member: you are invited to our monthly drinks, that are always open to all PhD Candidates. Drinks are on us!

P-NUTs new relationship with our newest faculty ITC

P-NUT represents, informs, and connects all PhD Candidates at the University of Twente. This means all PhD candidates which includes those at the newest faculty of our university: the ITC.

The board of P-NUT recently sat down with the PhD Community of the ITC (called IPC), and we decided that we can combine the strength of both organizations. We can use our connections with representative bodies at the university for ITC related problems, and the people from IPC can help us to better understand what issues PhD Candidates at the ITC face.

All PhD candidates at ITC (most of them bursary students, some of them employees) can become a member of P-NUT and participate in our events. Also, we extend our P-NUT board with one commission specifically focused on ITC-related issues. All other board positions are also open for a fair representation of ITC candidates.

We welcome PhD candidates of the ITC and hope they will actively participate in our board, and look forward to meeting them at one of our events.

PNN survey

In order to better represent you at a national level PNN (Promovendi Netwerk Netherland) would like to know  more about you. For this they have set up a short survey, single page. Please spare 5 minutes to fill it in and  assist with better representing you at a national level. The more we know about you the more we can help, and the better we can represent you.
