International Women’s Day 2006
Dutch culture, Dutch habits & Dutch women
For Dutch women and men the Dutch way of life has a self-evident flavor. Rather different is the situation of students and researchers from foreign countries. They often encounter unfamiliar political customs and unclear rules of conduct. To celebrate International Women’s Day 2006, Studium Generale and Female Faculty Network Twente invite several international researchers and PhD’s from the UT to reflect on Dutch culture, Dutch habits, and especially on Dutch women. The panel contains women from all over the world: Sonia Heemstra de Groot (Argentina), Anke Kohl (Germany), Yanyan Xue (China), Yulia Bachvarova (Bulgaria). During this evening, they are invited to give their view on Dutch women, as well as in personal as in professional life.
Moderators are Margaret Skutsch (English, female) and Peter Timmerman (Dutch, male).
Researchers and students from all countries of the world, including the Netherlands, are very welcome. Registration will not be necessary. English will be the language of this symposium.
Symposium at Wednesday, March 8th. Vrijhof/Amphitheatre, 19.30-21.00 hours.
