The Future of Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology is a promising technology. In the invisible realm of about 1-100 nanometers scientists manipulate molecules and create new materials which can be used in chemistry, biology and medicine. Though the scale might be miniscule, the possibilities and consequences of this technology are huge. One of the world’s most eminent nanoresearchers - professor Chad Mirkin - reflects on the future possibilities of nanotechnology and at the same time deconstructs nano science-fiction.
Prof. dr. Chad Mirkin is professor of Chemistry, Material Science & Engineering, and Medicine. He is Director of the Institute for Nanotechnology of Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
Wednesday 27th September, 16.00-17.30 hrs, Vrijhof/Amphitheatre. The lecture will be in English.
This lecture is a co-production of MESA+ and Studium Generale.
