Covid-19: Library services & updates

  • During the lockdown the University Library will remain open for self-study, for those students who do not have a good place to study at home.
  • Please check the website for the current opening hours.
  • Reserving a time slot is still required (rb.utwente.nl). Only UT students with a valid reservation and a student-card will be allowed in the Library. Reserve a place up to 2 days in advance for the maximum of 4 hours a day.
  • Please reserve only the time you will really be using. Please cancel the booking when you are unable to come. If you stick to these basic rules, the library will not need to limit the number of bookings per student.
  • The coffee zone is open. The computer area is open with 14 plug-in screens (BYO device). The Book Pick-Up & Return is moved to the Service Desk located at the main entrance of the Vrijhof building. The study books and journals available in the Library can also be used.

Please refer to these pages to make sure you have access to all the content, and how to contact the Library in case you have questions. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you need access to additional sources to teach or do research from home.

Book a study place (UT students only)

Use Resource Booker to book a place to study (for individual use only) in the Vrijhof Library. You will only be allowed into the building with a confirmed booking. This is the email you receive after blocking a time slot in Resource Booker. Please note this confirmation-email often ends up in your spam box.

Access to online content

To have access to all subscribed content of the University of Twente from home, make use of the options for off-campus access provided on this page.  

Access to physical content

Books currently on loan will be renewed till 1st of February 2021!

When the maximum number of renewals (5 times) has been reached, or a hold is placed on the item, renewal of the loan period is no longer possible.
An email notification will be send.

Book return is possible at the Service Desk Vrijhof Main entrance.
You will receive an email when a requested book is ready for pick-up.

N.B. For external users, it is not possible to visit the library, obtain a library card or renew a membership.
