eHealth development: Look before you leap
University of Twente; Centre for eHealth and Wellbeing research
Gewenste periode voor de stage
November 2016 – January 2017
The Centre for eHealth and Wellbeing research of the University of Twente is one of the leading research centers for the development, implementation and evaluation of eHealth. We are not just conducting research; we also try to share our knowledge with other researchers and professionals working in practice. This is done in multiple ways. We have, amongst other things, developed a free online course (https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/ehealth/2) and are currently writing a new study book on eHealth with contributions of many international authors, published by Taylor & Francis.
For those two projects, we are looking for more information on the experiences of people who are developing eHealth in practice, for example entrepreneurs, designers or researchers. We want to gain more insight into the do’s and don’ts of eHealth development in practice, and what to account for before starting the development process. This material will be used in the online course and book.
In order to achieve this, we are looking for a student who can collect these practical experiences by means of qualitative research and combine them into a written report. Together with our team (Lisette van Gemert-Pijnen, Robbert Sanderman, Saskia Kelders and Hanneke Kip), you will determine who will be interviewed and approach these participants. The qualitative information can be collected via interviews, (Skype) calls, or e-mail, depending on the preference of the participants. After collecting the data, you will write a report on this.
We are looking for an intern that is assertive, has good (professional) communication skills, is able to speak and write in both Dutch and English, and works meticulously. This internship gives you the possibility to contribute to our online course and/or book. You will also gain insight into working at a university (for example as a PhD student or lecturer) and you have the opportunity to get to know the domain of eHealth from the perspectives of research and practice.
