Sytske Wiegersma works at the University of Twente since December 2013. She completed her Master Educational Science & Technology in 2011. Her graduate research focused on the development and validation of complex IQ test items to differentiate on higher levels of intelligence. After graduating she worked as a Data Analyst at the department of Research Methodology, Measurement and Data Analysis for half a year, contributing to a study on sleep apnea by analyzing and validating several screening instruments using Item Response Theory.
After travelling through South America for one and a half year, she now works as a researcher at the University of Twente. She combines her PhD research with a part-time position at IGS Datalab, for which she develops policy and advises on handling and managing research data. Her PhD research on new methods and techniques for analyzing complex datasets currently focuses on the application of text mining techniques in screening for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), using spoken and written narratives. She has also contributed to a pilot study on fraud detection in social benefits, commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.
