CV Dr. ir. Hans Vos

Hans Vos is an Assistant Professor of Behavioral Science, Research Methodology, Measurement and Data Analysis, University of Twente, The Netherlands. He studied mathematics and management science. He received his Ph. D. in psychometrics and his thesis dealt with simultaneous optimization of test-based decisions in education and psychology. His current research interests are in educational decision making, standard-setting, complex performance assessment, computerized adaptive testing (CAT), item response theory (IRT), and sequential mastery testing. He published papers in several psychometric journals as well as results of fundamental psychometric research (e.g., rules for instructional decision making in Intelligent Tutoring Systems) in more applied educational and psychological journals. Hans Vos is a regular reviewer for, amongst others, Psychometrika, Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics, British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, and Computers in Human Behavior.

Hans Vos is Associate Editor of Psicológica and member of the Consulting Board of Computers in Human Behavior. Furthermore, he is a member of some large Dutch national boards for competency testing and secretary as well as founding member of the Dutch Examination Society. For part of his time he is a member of the Co-ordination Office of the Multidisciplinary Design Projects (MDPs) among both engineering and humanities studies at the University of Twente.

Teaching

Regular Programmes (Departements of Education, Communication and Psychology): Teacher in research methodology, statistics, systems theory, modeling and simulation, structural equation modeling, statistical software (SPSS), standard setting techniques, survey research, educational measurement, impact analysis for program evaluation, decision theory, scale analysis, test theory, educational technology, psychometrics.
