Professor Steven Kushner
Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Professor Steven Kushner received his M.D. and Ph.D. at the University of California Los Angeles, and residency training in Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. He is the Professor of Neurobiological Psychiatry at the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam and founder of the GEZIN study for family-based psychiatric genetics. He is a member of the executive committee for the European Molecular and Cellular Cognition Society (EMCCS), Program Committee for the 2016 Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) meeting, Co-Director of the Erasmus MC Academic Center of Excellence for Population Neuroscience and Chair of the 2016 Dutch Neuroscience Meeting. His laboratory uses functional genomics to advance the mechanistic understanding of human neuropsychiatric disorders, with a particular focus on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). He has received several prizes and awards, including the Vidi award from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).
