ANP publishes its first home-grown result: “Controlling the quality factor of a tuning-fork resonance between 9 and 300K for scanning-probe microscopy” by G. Ctistis, E.H. Frater, S.R. Huisman, J.P. Korterik, J.L. Herek, W.L. Vos and P.W.H. Pinkse is an important step towards a cryogenic near-field microscope which will extend near-field microscopy capacities to temperature well below 10 Kelvin. This is important for studying, e.g., the light emitted by InGaAs quantum dots in photonic structures. The article was published today in J. Phys. D: Appl. Phys.
