Nanotechnology owes its existence among others to a few enabling technologies comprising equipment and/or methods that provide the means to generate giant leaps in performance and capabilities in a particular field.
The Strategic Research Orientation ‘Enabling Technologies’ is a multidisciplinary program aiming at bundling the research activities of MESA+ in a very important enabling area in nanotechnology, that is Scanning Probe Microscopy.
The SRO started its activity in January 2011 and is headed by Dr. Peter Schön.
More information about the program director.
Preliminary activities of the SRO included a parallel session ‘Enabling Technologies’ at the MESA+ Meeting 2009 and the 2nd MESA+ SPM Afternoon, 2009.
