WATCH OUT, phishing telephone calls

Since years the University of Twente has had trouble with phishing e-mails, e-mails where you are asked to reply with your personal details through a web form or e-mail. The newest trend seems to be to call the victim to try and get personal details (like passwords). The Phisher introduces himself as an employee of the servicedesk and asks to give out personal details or to install certain software.

LISA or the University of Twente will never ask for account details or passwords through the phone.

If someone calls you asking about usernames/passwords, if possible send a message about this attempt (with telephone number of the caller if there is any) to Service Desk ICT, phone number 5577 Servicedesk-ict@utwente.nl or security@utwente.nl directly.
