Guidance will be given how to apply active control to the model combustor. To this end, a feedback system modulating the mass flow rate of the fuel will be devised and installed in the model combustor. This allows measurements at a range of acoustic amplitudes, from low (stable case) to very high. The growth rate of an instability will be measured by switching off the active control and letting an unstable oscillation arise. Data on nonlinear effects in the heat release and in the losses at the ends will be provided.1
