Analytical acoustics

A mathematical approach will be taken in this package, providing training in advanced analytical methods, including a Green’s function approach (applied to the nonhomogeneous acoustic wave equation), conformal mapping and matched asymptotic expansions. The analytical studies will give physical insight into the thermo-acoustic processes and structural vibrations, as well as their interaction. The analytical results will provide qualitative information as a design tool and quantitative information on selected cases for the validation of numerical tools.
