The IGS PhD initiative group invites you to the IGS Interview Workshop for Social Sciences, where Dr. F. van Gemert of Evers Research will tell and learn you all about the essential skills on qualitative interviewing. The workshop will take place on Friday, 3rd of February 2016 from 10:00 to 13:00 in Ravelijn building, room RA 2231 at the University of Twente (lunch is included).
Dr. F van Gemert of Evers Research will give a workshop about qualitative interviewing. The day will start with a short introduction about qualitative methods, after which the most important aspects of qualitative interviewing will be illustrated. Thereafter, two exercises will be carried out which will put the foregoing into practice. During a concluding discussion there will be room for reflection on the provided techniques and participants will be asked to denominate the usefulness of the things learned for their own research projects. Seen the compact nature of this workshop, little attention will be devoted to theoretical background and the main focus will be on interviewing skills.
In order for dr. van Gemert to prepare for the workshop, he asks you to provide him with your research question and to explain which types of participants you will need for your own interviews. You can indicate both on the registration form. Please take note: the workshop will be held in Dutch!
Max. number of participants is 21. The registration will be arranged on the “first come first serve” basis.
Register now (deadline Thursday 26th, January – 17:00).
