Patients know better: Hospital stories

In collaboration with the Rathenau Institute, the national centre for research and debate on science and technology, the Dutch Life Story Lab is engaged in a large-scale study into the experiences of patients and their relatives with hospital care. Their stories - positive and negative - provide insight into the ways in which patients and their relatives experience hospital care and into what autonomy for patients actually means. The researchers make use of these insights for recommendations aimed at improving the quality of care and strengthening the autonomy of patients.
