Female Faculty Network Twente (FFNT)

The PhD Network of the University of Twente (P-NUT) and the Female Faculty Network Twente (FFNT) invites UT PhD Students  to a half day workshop:

“Career Lab for female PhD’s – explore your opportunities and create your own career ”

Led by Arielle Brouwer

(see http://www.brouwertraining.nl/ )

26 May 2016 from 15.00 till 17.30 hrs.

In Conference Hall Carré 3A

What do you need to be able to create your own career? What opportunities are available for younger females to close the gender gap and achieve top positions? These questions are at stake in the Career Lab for female PhD’s, a mixture between a workshop, a lunch (tea :-)) meeting, and a networking event. With 12 to 30 colleagues you will jointly explore what you –individually and collectively- can undertake to advance your career in the desired direction. And what can support you.

Arielle Brouwer
Arielle works for the UT as a freelance coach, trainer, facilitator and program developer since 2005.

Topics: professional profiling, career development, effective communication, personal leadership, gender and cultural differences. She has extended experience in women’s professional development, she’s called knowledgeable, creative, trustworthy and personable. Note: in case of more than 15 participants Arielle will be assisted by a second facilitator.

“In my view, it is extra important in times of insecurity to keep (your own) track, take good care of yourself, share experiences with peers and support each other, and to take charge over your own life and career –which is not the same as planning it. In these times, building a career is more like a dance with the circumstances, the possibilities from the outside in relation to those on the inside of you. In this concept, the essential place for ‘growth’ is in the personal interior development: learn how to deal with the circumstances, make choices and stay healthy and calm.” - Arielle Brouwer

Program

Participants will be provided with:

•Introduction about careers in the current/future labor market, the need for dynamic steering and the required competencies (flexibility, resilience)

•Self-assessment: personal & career development

•Joint exploration: what do you need to create your own career? Choice of 3-6 questions/subjects to explore deeper

•Experience based learning: exercises for inner strength and personal leadership

•Sharing information about special grants and prices for women (with input from FFNT, PNUT, and you all)
