Workshop Assertiveness; how to convince others

Dear ladies,

The Female Faculty Network Twente invites you to the workshop

‘Assertiveness; how to convice others’

by Erna Lankhorst

on Tuesday 1 November, from 13.30 till 16.30 hrs.

in building LOGICA

Convincing another is not only about facts and figures. It all starts with convincing yourself. Only then will your non-verbal behaviour be convincing and you can formulate your statements clearly and without hesitation. The art of convincing in meetings, discussions, presentations and job interviews is getting increasingly important. Moreover, since we receive excessive amounts of information these days our attention span shortens. Providing clear and concise messages becomes vital.

In the workshop on Assertiveness we will learn about the effects that different kinds of non-verbal behaviour and verbal formulations have on convincing others. Further we will explore the role of emotions and relaxation and learn how to attune to the other party. Finally the workshop will stress the importance of and provide guidance about convincing yourself first, since only then you can give attention to and align with the other party.
