Msc Honours programmes
Are you exceptionally talented, intellectually interested and extremely motivated? Then the Honours Programme is the right place for you!
The University of Twente offers four master Honours Programmes: Change Leaders, Design Honours, Research Honours and the HTSM Honours Master. The programmes start every year and are open for all study programmes. As a result, the honours classroom consists of an interdisciplinary group of excellent students.
The Master Honours Programme Change Leaders focuses on developing one’s personal leadership skills during the execution of projects. This unique programme focuses on developing one’s personal leadership skills during the execution of projects. Examples of projects are: organizing an event as a board member of an association; starting your own business or initiating a project, but also an internship or MSc thesis project qualifies potentially as a change project in which your leadership skills will be honed by this programme. The Master Honours Programme Design is a programme of 15EC that will guide you through a full design process, integrating both a technological and a societal challenge. The challenges are rooted in the research of diverse engineering labs of the University. In this programme you work in small design teams. You will develop your skills in mastering complex design problems and creating novel solutions. More information on the Design programme can be found here.
The Master Honours Programme Research is an individually tailored programme that offers you additional knowledge and skills in the area of research management, publishing research, and developing a (PhD) research proposal. Through extra courses, trainings and meetings, the program helps excellent UT master students that are in their graduation phase to develop knowledge and skills in the area of academic research. The Master Honours Programme High Tech Systems and Materials Honours (HTSM) offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with students from different disciplines on challenging, real-life product development assignments by the industry. This programme is a collaboration of the University of Groningen, the University of Twente, University Campus Fryslan, and Philips. More information on the HTSM programme can be found here.
In the short future information lectures will be given over the master honours programmes. There will be an information lecture for each track as well as an information lecture about the programme in general.

24 October: RESEARCH HONOURS RA 2334
12.45-13.30: Are you a master’s student? Are you achieving above-average results? Do you have a demonstrable affinity for research and do you want to (further) develop the capabilities necessary for research? This excellence programme will be tailored to your needs and offers the deepening of theoretical and practical knowledge. You will acquire more knowledge by means of extra courses, trainings and meetings. The Research Honours programme is an addition to your master’s programme.
25 October: DESIGN HONOURS RA 2503
12.45-13.30: The extra-curricular multidisciplinary Design Honours Master is an integrated module of 15EC that will guide you through a full design process, integrating both a technological and a societal challenge.
27 October: CHANGE LEADERS RA2334
12.45-13.30: Are you a master’ student? Are you achieving above-average results? Will you be the leader of the future? Then the Change Leaders Honours programme is for you! This unique extra-curricular programme focuses on the development of personal leadership” gaining and broadening your leadership capabilities. This enables you to be at your best and inspire others to do the same. This will help you to achieve excellent results in the project of your choice and any future projects.
