Dr. Gürcan Güleşir

Gürcan Güleşir obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Engineering from Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2001 and 2003, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2008 from the Software Engineering chair of the University of Twente, The Netherlands. Since 2008, he has been working as a part-time post-doctoral researcher at the Software Engineering chair. Next to this position, he also works for BloomWise as a software architect.

Güleşir has worked for the Ideals and Darwin projects under the management of the Embedded Systems Institute. In these projects, he has collaborated with system and software architects from ASML and Philips Healthcare, to come up with novel solutions to some of the long-standing problems in behavioral design and evolution of embedded software systems. As a part of technology transfer activities, Güleşir prepared and delivered behavioral modeling workshops to system/software architects and designers, both in the Netherlands and the USA.

At the University of Twente, Güleşir has given lectures within the Software Management and the Design of Software Architectures courses organized by the Software Engineering chair. Güleşir’s research interest is to develop practical and scalable techniques and tools for creating high-quality behavioral requirements and designs of software-intensive systems.
