Bart van Leersum received the MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology in August 1995. He did his masters project at Philips Research (NatLab).

From 1995 until 2006 he worked as a research scientist at TNO Defence, Safety and Security in Den Haag.

He has worked for the Ministry of Defence, Defence Materiel Organisation since 2006, responsible for knowledge management, research activities, standardisation and consultancy on electromagnetic technology.

Research activities

Bart van Leersum started at the University of Twente in February 2012 on the project ‘Maritime Innovation’ in which his employer is a project partner.

His task is the development and implementation of state of the art technologies for cost-effective integration into a naval environment of commercially available equipment and

Components assuring performance, robustness, safety and reliability.
