Mathematical Analysis, Geometry, Numerics and Systems

Devashish is a PhD student at the Mathematics of Compational Science (MACS) group and the Complex Photonic Systems (COPS) group, both at the University of Twente, under Shell FOM Research Program. His supervisors are Prof.dr.ir J.J.W.van der Vegt and Prof.dr.Willem L.Vos.

He will be working on the project titled "Accurate Modeling of Light at the Nanoscale for Efficient Solar Cells". The aim is to obtain a breakthrough in the understanding of photonic crystal nanostructures by means of accurate numerical methods. He will work on developing an accurate and efficient discontinuous Galerkin finite-element eigen-value solver for time-harmonic Maxwell equations with (locally) periodic dielectric materials."

He received his Master's degree in Mathematics and Computing at Indian School of Mines(Dhanbad, India).
