Applied networking research prize ANRP for DACS members

The Applied Networking Research Prize 2015 (ANRP) of the IRTF (Internet Reseach Task Force) has been awarded to 5 excellent paper within the area of Networking. Only top papers have been nominated. DACS researchers Roland van Rijswijk-Deij, Anna Sperotto and Aiko Pras received this outstanding award for their paper: "DNSSEC and its potential for DDoS attacks – a comprehensive measurement study".

The Applied Networking Research Prize is awarded for recent results in applied networking research that are relevant for transitioning into shipping Internet products and related standardization efforts. It was a tough competition: out of 39 submissions (many SIGCOMM) only 5 were chosen. Each submission was reviewed by several members of the selection committee according to a diverse set of criteria, including scientific excellence and substance, timeliness, relevance, and potential impact on the Internet.

It is the second time this paper won an award: recently, it won the Community Contribution Award of the 2014 of the ACM Internet Measurement Conference (IMC 2014).
