DACS's researchers awarded an IRTF Applied Networking Research Prize (ANRP)

Idilio Drago, Anna Sperotto, Ramin Sadre and Aiko Pras from DACS, together with Marco Mellia and Maurizio M. Munafò from the Politecnico di Torino, were awarded an IRTF Applied Networking Research Prize (ANRP) for their paper "Inside Dropbox: Understanding Personal Cloud Storage Services".

The paper, which provides a deep characterization of the leading solution in cloud storage (Dropbox), was presented at the ACM Internet Measurement Conference in November 2012. The IRTF received 36 nominations for the 2013 prize, out of which 4 have been awarded the Applied Networking Research Prize. Each submission was reviewed according to a diverse set of criteria, including scientific excellence and substance, timeliness, relevance, and potential impact on the Internet.
