Pieter-Tjerk de Boer receives an IPv6 Award

The IPv6 Awards are awarded annually by the Dutch IPv6 TaskForce to stimulate the transition to version 6 of the Internet Protocol, because the current version IPv4 is expected to run out of addresses soon (latest estimate: March 8, 2011).

There are awards in several categories, such as companies, internet service providers, etc.

Pieter-Tjerk was nominated in the category 'publications and teaching curriculum', for his teaching of the course 'telematics networks' at the UT. IPv6 is an important topic in this course, and the jury particularly liked the fact that the students need to get IPv6 connectivity themselves in order to access course materials.
