Title: Network Acceleration and Security Research at Brno University of Technology

Abstract:

The presentation will cover the R&D activities and a successful cooperation of three organizations: Brno University of Technology, CESNET (Czech NREN) and INVEA-TECH (commercial company). CESNET and BUT started their cooperation in 2003 focusing on the field of hardware acceleration for networking. The research has been soon narrowed to high-speed network security monitoring, mostly flow-based. In 2007, a commercial spin-off company INVEA-TECH was established. All three organizations continue to cooperate in R&D with the support of national and EU funding. Their current research interests include hardware-accelerated application level monitoring and filtering at 100 Gb/s, high-volume flow data storage, analysis and anomaly detection, traffic reconstruction, lawful interception and data retention.
