Banners and elements in the right column

WHAT CAN BE PLACED IN THE RIGHT COLUMN?

In the new version, you can be able to place more things than just banners (pictures), the following things can be placed as well:

•Videos from Youtube (in the future Vimeo as well)

•Twitter-banner ‘follow us on twitter’ (just place the URL of the twitteraccount, it will adjust automatically)

•Twitter: badge where tweets from specific users or specific search terms can be shown (only specify the search term or twitteraccount, it will adjust automatically)

•Facebook: badge with a link to your facebook page (just place the URL, it will adjust automatically)

•Facebook: activity badge (just place the, it will adjust automatically)

•Calendar: a badge with a monthly overview of activities.

•Other banners/pictures with or without links, where the page will or won’t be opened in a new tab.

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO ADD ‘OTHER’ BANNERS

Banners for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are already in WebHare, you can generate those easily. If you want to add another banner, you will need the following information:

•The picture itself

oOption 1: Photoshop
Install with Zenworks the programme Photoshop on your Windows 7 workspace, if you didn’t do this already. Download this template and open it in Photoshop. The picture is 150x100 pixels. You can substitute different layers here; the layers which are called ‘achtergrond’ (background) and ‘tekst’ (text). The text should be made ‘smooth’ in photoshop, otherwise it will look to sharp.

oOption 2: Fireworks
Install with Zenworks the programme Fireworks on you Windows 7 workspace, if you didn’t do this already. Download the template and open it in Fireworks. The picture is 150x100 pixels. You can substitute different layers here; the layers which are called ‘Background’, ‘Text NL’ and ‘Text EN’ can be replaces. Don’t forget to apply the same mask on the new background for the rounded corners.

Save the file as .jpg or .png (for not animated pictures), or .gif (for an animated picture). If there is mostly text on the picture, .png will work better.

•What title does the banner have (visible when mouse is on the banner)

•Optional: To what link does the banner need to redirect to.

Upload your banner to a not visible folder on your website. Make for example a folder named ‘banners’, and don’t add the title. Upload your banner in this folder, and fill in the title. In the description field you paste your link (http://www…) where the banner needs to redirect to.

Under the properties of your site you can find the tab ‘blocks’, where you can link a banner to your website, or to a specific folder or file. You can choose a self uploaded banner here for your website.

GENERAL BANNERS THAT CAN BE PLACED ON YOUR WEBSITE
