The Women’s Academic Network Twente (WANT) is seeking three new members to join the Board in the roles of: Media and Communications Coordinator, S&T Faculty Representative and ITC Faculty Representative.
In recent years, awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) has grown regionally, nationally, and internationally. Our university is committed to supporting and advancing these efforts.
WANT is dedicated to building academic leadership for women at the University of Twente. We foster career development and promote diversity and inclusion through member engagement, continuous information sharing, and active networking. The dynamic environment around us calls for deeper commitment and we recognise the need to expand our role and diversify our initiatives.
We are looking for academic staff members who are ready to get involved, eager to share ideas and enthusiasm, bring organisational skills, and actively contribute to the Board's work.
All board members are expected to:
- Attend monthly Board meetings
- Contribute to the management of the WANT network
- Support the organisation of WANT events
- Communicate with members and stakeholders involved in DEI discussions
- Share ideas to promote the leadership of women within the University of Twente
Details on the responsibilities for each open Board position are provided below:
WANT Media and Communications Coordinator
The Media and Communications lead manages WANT's online presence, including social media, news, website and the Teams pin board. Responsibilities include creating engaging content, sharing news, promoting events and managing the network’s brand. This role involves close collaboration with the Events Coordinator and External Engagement Co-Chair to effectively communicate initiatives and achievements to both internal and external audiences.
- Expected Time Commitment: 6–8 hours per month
- Expected Term Length: 2 years
WANT S&T/TNW Faculty Representative
WANT ITC Faculty representative
Faculty Representatives serve as liaisons between the network and individual faculties, collecting and sharing input from members. They help promote the network's activities and events within their faculties, encourage participation, and provide feedback on faculty-specific needs or concerns. This role is vital for ensuring that the network's activities are relevant and responsive to all faculty members. Faculty representatives provide updates the to the Board at the monthly WANT board meetings.
- Expected Time Commitment: 3–5 hours per month
- Expected Term Length: 1 year
