MAGIC MAASTRICHT ON THE VRIJTHOF….
Maastricht is a wonderfully atmospheric city, with many pleasant shops to do your Christmas shopping in advance! On the famous Vrijthof you will find the Christmas market with many chalets with all kinds of delicacies. Visit Dickens Village, a charming village with typical products and crafts and, above all, taste a real Christmas atmosphere. Come and enjoy Christmas shopping in Magic Christmas World, a shop full of gadgets to celebrate a wonderful Christmas. There is a complete ice rink, a ferris wheel and lots of traditional activities. You can go shopping in the shopping streets. The streets and shop windows are beautifully decorated in the weeks before Christmas. In the car-free area you will come across many pleasant squares. Often there are also Christmas stalls or small Christmas markets. Immediately after the Sint Servaasbrug (towards the station) is the neighborhood called 'Wijck'. Here you will find many attractive shops. No real Christmas market, but lots of beautiful mood lighting and beautifully decorated shop windows.
THE CHRISTMAS MARKET OF VALKENBURG IS THÉ CHRISTMAS MARKET OF THE NETHERLANDS!
The nicest and most atmospheric Christmas market in the Netherlands. Underground, in the Municipal Cave and the Velvet Cave, you can visit the unique Christmas market. Or discover Mergelrijk, where informative stories about marl and caves are shown in an intimate Christmas atmosphere, with beautiful marl images, artworks, films and interactive tablets. In Winter Wonderland you can experience the Fairytale-like sand sculptures in the Wilhelminagrot where artists from all over the world have built their sand sculptures.
THE COZY CHRISTMAS MARKET OF AACHEN (Aken).
Not too far, cozy and uncluttered. You can find the stalls in the surroundings of the town hall. In addition to the usual stalls with mulled wine, crepes and other delicacies, you can also go to the Christmas market in Aachen for nice things for in and under the Christmas tree.
The journey is based on Bed / breakfast. We stay at the Van der Valk hotel Stein-Urmond.
