“A tear in the aortic wall is life-threatening and difficult to treat. Together with Rijnstate Hospital, I am developing a personalized computer model that mimics blood flow and the tear. This allows us to better predict how the disease will develop and, for example, prevent unnecessary stent surgery. My research helps us choose the right treatment at the right time. After years of experience with solar-powered boats, Solar Boat Twente is now taking on a new challenge: we will be the first student team to build a racing boat powered by a fuel cell on green methanol. This fuel is CO2 neutral, can be stored safely and has great potential for use in the maritime sector. With our new boat we want to prove that methanol is a sustainable alternative to shipping and that it can even make our boat fly! Will you help us make an impact?
