About us

Your donation counts, every year again!

The Twente University Fund dates back to 1948 when entrepreneurs and the authorities united to lobby for the establishment of a university college in the north-east of the Netherlands. The foundation also continued to support the university and its academic community after the Technical University College Twente was founded in 1961. Donations from the business community and private individuals make this possible. You make this possible!

You can read more about the history of the Twente University Fund in the book 'Aanjager' that the Twente University Fund published in May 2014. The electronic version of the book can be viewed at the bottom of the page.

Organisation

The Twente University Fund is an independent foundation and a recognised charity. Donations are allocated in accordance with donors' intentions. Each donation fully benefits the selected goal.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENTS

The Twente University Fund invests in accordance with the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investments (UNPRI). In addition, the fund has limited its investment portfolio to investment funds that score 4 or 5 'globes' on the Morningstar Sustainability Rating. Along these two lines, the University Fund board gives substance to the importance it attaches to the integration of ESG criteria (Environmental, Social and Governance aspects) in its investment policy. As we invest in private equity funds, a 100% exclusion of fossil fuels is practically impossible. However, with the combination of UNPRI and a strict target regarding the Morningstar Sustainability Rating, any involvement in the Oil & Gas sector in the equity portfolio is limited to 1.00%.
