Martijn Blom was asked twice to climb the podium during the opening of the Academic Year. In addition to the Graduation Award of the faculty TNW, he also won the Twente Graduate School Award. This price (€ 2500 for doctoral education) can be spent to, for example, summer schools, workshops or conference visits. Blom won the prize with a research proposal in which he, on a cost-effective and secure way, wants to store renewable energy.
