Jülich-Twente Summit 2026 brings researchers together to forge new collaborations

The UT recently welcomed colleagues from Forschungszentrum Jülich for the Jülich-Twente Summit 2026. The three-day event brought together researchers from various disciplines to share research findings, explore new collaborations and lay the foundations for future joint projects.

The programme featured presentations, poster sessions and interactive discussions in which participants exchanged knowledge and expertise. By connecting researchers from both organisations, new ideas for joint research emerged and existing collaborations were further strengthened.

PhD students were at the heart of the summit. This year, around 80 PhD and 10 MSc students took part, making a significant contribution to the scientific exchange through presentations, discussions and networking activities. They engaged with researchers from both institutions, shared their work and established valuable connections for future collaborations. Their active involvement helps maintain the partnership’s bottom-up character and strengthens international knowledge exchange for the next generation of scientists.

What I enjoyed most was the energy and openness throughout the event. I was particularly impressed by the enthusiasm of our PhD students. You could really see new connections being made and ideas taking shape. That's exactly what makes this partnership so valuable.
