Three S&T programmes awarded Top Programme status in the Keuzegids Universiteiten 2026

We are delighted to announce that no fewer than three bachelor’s programmes from our Faculty of Science & Technology (S&T) have been recognised as Top Programmes in the Keuzegids Universiteiten 2026. Alongside the programmes that have earned this title in previous years, Technical Medicine has once again joined the list, a wonderful achievement for our faculty.

The following bachelor’s programmes within our faculty have been awarded the Top Programme designation:

  • Applied Physics
  • Chemical Science & Engineering
  • Technical Medicine

This recognition reflects the high quality of our education, the dedication of our students, lecturers and staff, and the continuous efforts to further strengthen and innovate our teaching.

For Applied Physics and Chemical Science & Engineering, the result confirms once again their position at the very top. For Technical Medicine, this is an important milestone: the programme is once again among the best in the country, which is a fantastic acknowledgement of its unique profile and academic quality.

Sissi de Beer, Programme Director Applied Physics:

I am incredibly proud of our lecturers, students, and programme team, with whom we work together to help everyone reach their full potential. Our close-knit community and high standards form the strength of the programme, and thanks to this collaboration, we have been recognised as a Top Programme for the 14th year in a row.

Leonie Krab, Programme Director Chemical Science & Engineering:

We are thrilled that our students continue to value our programme so highly. With a dedicated team of lecturers and staff, we provide students with a top-quality experience in a top-notch community, supported by the student association Alembic. With a strong focus on green chemistry, sustainable processes, new materials and essential skills, we prepare our students to become the chemical engineers of the future. Feedback from students, alumni, and industry supports our continuous development, and we are extremely proud of this recognition.

Katja Haijkens, Programme Director Technical Medicine:

We are extremely proud of this distinction; it is a wonderful recognition of the hard work our entire team puts into the programme every day. Our strong interdisciplinary approach and close collaboration with hospitals keep us directly connected to the professional field, allowing us to continuously respond to developments. We keep improving our education, with our students’ dedication, engagement, and feedback being essential for the ongoing growth and innovation of the programme.

We would like to thank all students, staff, lecturers and partners who make these achievements possible. Let us continue to work together to maintain and further strengthen our education.
