The Executive Board has appointed Jan Willem Timmerman as the new portfolio holder of operational management for the Faculty of Science and Technology (S&T). His appointment will take effect on 1 January 2021 and is for four years. In 2012, Jan-Willem served as senior project manager until 2016 at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, after which he became head of finance for the faculty of Science and Technology. In addition to his work at the University of Twente, Jan-Willem sits on the city council of Wierden, where he also resides.
The appointment advisory committee, the faculty advisory committee and the Faculty Council all welcome the appointment of Jan-Willem. Jennifer Herek, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology: “Jan-Willem is an excellent manager. He knows the faculty well and is extensively involved in UT-wide developments, and he is also someone who is focused on continuous improvement. His unifying and cooperative personality traits make him a valuable addition to our faculty board.”
Jan-Willem had the following to say about his appointment: “It is a great opportunity to fulfill the position of portfolio holder operations. S&T is a vibrant faculty where we provide excellent education and research. I am proud to gain this confidence and to contribute to the challenges we face in the coming years.”
