Jordi Cabanas Danés was born in Barcelona (Spain), on the 28th of January 1985. He studied Chemistry at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where he received his degree (Llicenciatura en Química) in June 2008. During his undergraduate period, he worked as Erasmus student, on the caracterization and the catalytic study of Platinum based catalysts for the steam reforming reactions of methane, ethane and ethylene under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ir. L. Lefferts, Dr. B.L.Mojet and Ir. P.O. Graf. The work was carried out on 2006, in the Catalytic Processes & Materials Group (CPM) at the University of Twente.
Since October 2008, he is a Ph.D. candidate in the group of Prof.Dr. Jurriaan Huskens at the University of Twente. The aim of his project is the study of peptide-patterned surfaces for their binding properties in order to construct 3D self-targeting injectable scaffolds to arthritic cartilage.
