A new paper by Hoon Suk Rho and Han Gardeniers, originating from a collaboration with Alexander Hanke and Marcel Ottens of the Technical University of Delft, has been published in the RSC journal "The Analyst". The work originates from a joint project within the BE-Basic framework.
The new paper describes the design, manufacturing and testing of a miniaturized device that enables 9 parallel protein incubations with or without adsorbent particles, to obtain an adsorption isotherm of a protein in a single experiment. The stepwise concentration gradient of a target protein was created by the integration of a microvalve / mixer network. The implemented reactor with a volume of 41 nL allows a 5000 times reduction in sample consumption, and faster analysis than a conventional 96 well plate.
