On Thursday November 10, 2016, we will have two distinguished guests visiting our group as invited members of the dissertation graduation committee for the PhD thesis defense of Jeroen van Nugteren.
They both kindly agreed to give a seminar in the early afternoon on the latest developments on superconductors and magnet technology in their laboratories.
Dr. Jos Perenboom is Senior Scientist at the High Magnetic Field Laboratory (HMFL) at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
Prof. David Larbalestier is Chief Materials Scientist at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) and Florida State University in Tallassee, Florida, USA.
The program of the seminar, which will take place in presentation room 2H in building Carre, is as follows:
14:15-15:00 Jos Perenboom - “Highly Performing Magnets for HFML's Research in High Magnetic Fields”
15:00-15:45 David Larbalestier - “Recent progress in application of 2212 and REBCO to high field magnet technology”
Later that same afternoon Jeroen van Nugteren will defend his PhD thesis “High Temperature Superconductor Accelerator Magnets” at 16:30 in the Prof. Dr. G. Berkhoff room in building Waaier.
We kindly invite you to attend this seminar.
