MORE INFO

Malin Becker started studying Materials Science at the Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany) in 2013. In 2016, she continued with the international master program FAME (Functionalized Advanced Materials and Engineering) studying one year at the Grenoble Institute of Technology (France) and one year at the Technische Universität Darmstadt. In France she completed an internship at Institut Néel focusing on the preparation and characterization of mesoporous silica and organosilica nanoparticles for bio-activated cargo release. During her master thesis she worked on injectable bioactive glass/polymer composites for bone regeneration. Here the focus was set on adapting the viscosity and pH of a chitosan based hydrogel as well as of a PEG based compound to obtain injectable or moldable materials, respectively.
In 2019, she started as a PhD student in the Developmental BioEngineering group under supervision of Dr. Jeroen Leijten working on embedded 3D bioprinting of vascular structures.
