Janek Betting [CPM] attended the Pure and Applied Chemistry Conference (PACCON) in Phitsanulok, Thailand, to present his work on hydroxylamine in the nitrate and nitrite hydrogenaiton reaction.
This work was a collaborative effort with Ribbin Preedawichitkun who spent a 6 months research stay with CPM last summer. Together they investigated the reaction parameters that influence the production of hydroxylamine in the thermocatalytic nitrite and nitrate hydrogenation over Pd/Al₂O₃ and SnPd/Al₂O₃ catalysts and revised the surface reaction mechanism of nitrite hydrogenation on Pd/Al₂O₃.
Besides interesting discussions and exchanges, Janek also received the Outstanding Presentation Award in the Catalytic Chemistry.
