PhD position in quantum Monte Carlo developments for energy-related applications.

A PhD position is available in the group of Claudia Filippi at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. The research will focus on theoretical and software developments in the framework of accurate quantum Monte Carlo methodologies for the efficient computation of structural properties in the excited state. The project is funded by the Dutch national research organization (NWO) and Shell under the Computational Sciences for Energy Research program. The research will be carried out in close collaboration with software engineers from the Netherlands eScience Center, who will be dedicated to the project for its whole duration.

The PhD position is for 4 years and is available already now.

Candidates should have a master in chemistry, physics, or applied mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in computer simulations and programming.

Interested candidates should provide a CV and the names of 2 or more references to Prof. Claudia Filippi (
