Current Research


Vishal is currently part of the SUPOLEN Marie Curie Initial Training programme, which is a EU wide project involved in supramolecular polymer chemistry research. He is working on Brownian dynamics simulations of disulphide cross-linked star polymer gel. This gel has been shown to display self-healing characteristics, so the aim of the project is be to investigate the effect of the lifetime of the transient bonds upon the rheological properties of the network. The process of gelation in star polymers is also being investigated, which leads to power law response in the stress relaxation modulus due to the formation of fractal clusters. In addition, he has also developed a generalized version of the Rouse model which works for arbitrary bead frictions and springs as well.
