Shuqin Cao was born in Chongqing, China on August 30th 1989. She pursued her Bachelor degree in Polymer Materials and Engineering at Sichuan University of China from 2008 to 2012. During her bachelor research project she constructed a glucose responsive LbL system as a controlled delivery system of insulin under the supervision of Prof Dr. Jianshu Li. She received her Master degree in biomaterials in 2015 at Sichuan University, China, her thesis was entitled “Dipeptide-assisted self-assembly of Salmon Calcitonin into supramolecular nanoparticles for long-last therapy” and was carried out under the supervision of professor Jianshu Li at the polymer science and engineering institute of biomaterials.

In September 2015 Shuqin started her PhD in the Biomolecular Nanotechnology group under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jeroen J.L.M. Cornelissen. The aim of her project is to probing the interior properties of CCMV capsid through studying host-guest chemistry inside CCMV protein cages.
